Tasting at Meridian Vineyards

March 29, 2010 matt 3 Comments

We showed up at Meridian Vineyards with some friends…had a picnic on their grounds and then went inside to taste.  http://www.meridianvineyards.com/.  So, to start off with, Meridian probably has some of the most beautifully landscaped and cared for grounds in the area.  There’s rolling green hills surrounded by flowering shrubs all shaded with big, beautiful groomed oak trees.  A great place for a picnic.  The tasting room as a lot to browse through including some great glassware, jewelry, and kitchen stuff.  We tasted through their list and found a couple of standouts.  The Merlot was nice as was the Club Cuvee, which was a red blend.  Meridian bottles a huge amount of wine every year and can be found in many of your local grocery stores if you can’t make it to the tasting room.  If you can make it there, definitely bring a picnic and enjoy the grounds for a while!

Nice! Although we’re not members, we typically hit the July 4th bash up at Meridian. With live music and food, it’s a fun, well organized event without ginormous crowds and chaos. And yes, the grounds are outstanding. As for the wine, I agree with you guys…

Monica – We’ve heard great things about that 4th of July party…maybe we’ll make it this year! We usually sit on a hill and watch from afar.
Ryan – Good point about being worth the visit…definitely! Not sure about the floppy hat pic, it’s hard to say how I looked since I couldn’t see out!!! 😉

This guest star says, even if you grab a bottle and have lunch there and don’t even consider tasting it is worth the trip….I wish we had a picture posted of Annie in the big floppy hat, she look sooooo retro 🙂
