Tempranillo Tasting with SLO Pourers

April 11, 2010 matt 9 Comments

There’s a “group” in town called the SLO Pourers…I put that in quotes because they’re a Facebook group that’s focused on young locals that work in the wine industry, learning about and exploring the world of wine.  They pick a wine variety and then gather to do a blind tasting.  Everybody brings a bottle, along with complimentary snacks, and they taste through the different bottles.  The point is to learn more about a specific variety of wine, be it local or not, and also to learn more about your own palate.  Anyway, we got invited to Tempranillo night, and we had a blast!  Check it out…

Okay…since we said we’d be back…here’s a little more….not promising high quality content, but hey, we were working hard!  😉

Hi Bev! Yes, it was at one of the group members’ house – search for SLO Pourers (group) on FB…Everyone had a great time! It was a neat event, great idea to do blind tasting, we learned a lot about our own palates and what other opinions on the wines were. No worries…there will be more to come!!! 😉

Raid and Candy Corn?…um-m-m-need I say more. Looked like a ton of fun. you guys are too funny. What was the final-final votes? would be interesting to see how about a dozen ‘tipsey’ folks voted. Palete might be numb after about 6/8 tastes? keep up the good times!

We had a great time! Final winner was an ’04 Silver Stone Tempranillo from Paso Robles. We were doing pretty small tastes…so we held it together!
