Sextant Winery's Paso Tasting Room

June 23, 2010 matt 2 Comments

It’s not exactly glamorous or extravagant, but the wine is good!  Sextant has been around for several years, and they’ve poured their wines in a few different places, including San Luis Obispo, but now they’re in a warehouse in Paso Robles just out Dry Creek Road near the airport.  They’ve got a nice tasting bar and all the trimmings of a tasting room tucked in the corner of where they house their barrels.  About the wine….they make some great Chardonnays, rich creamy and delicious…not crazy oaky.  They also do some really nice Zinfandels, just like a Paso Area Winery should!  There are also some interesting red blends that you should give a try!  Remember the post we did where we interviewed Kevin Riley, winemaker at Proulx?  Well guess what?  He’s the winemaker at Sextant, too!  Busy guy!!!
