So, we’ve been hearing about Turley for a long time now. They’re known for their old vines Zinfandels, and make a few other varietals as well. The property is beautiful, nestled in the hills off 46 West, just off Vineyard and the patio is perfect for a picnic. The inside of the tasting room is pretty cool…very rustic/elegant, with old wood from the original buildings on the property. The only problem was that it took quite some time for anybody to acknowledge us, but once they did, the service was good. Tasting room customer service is huge, great customer service can make mediocre wine really good. Never doubt the power of a quality tasting room attendant, they can make it, or break it. Anyway, the wine was really good.

I agree with you Matt, customer service is very important, employees should always acknowledge you the minute you walk in the door. That is one of my pet peeves if it takes me awhile to get service I walk out, and I let the winery know by sending the manager a letter, giving them the name of the employee on duty. If the winery is crowded sometimes it hard to squeeze up to the bar to get our glasses sometimes people can be rude too and not let you through, I always slide over for new comers entering the building. The winery looks nice from the outside. Wow Matt you are sure up early posting this blog.

Beverly – that’s great that you let the wineries know what’s going on when you don’t have a good experience. We let them know when somebody’s provided a really great experience, too! As much as wine is a social, fun thing, it’s still a business and business is all about customer service. The way that you feel in a tasting room will definitely affect how you feel about the wines, in a good way or a bad way. Anyhooo, get out there an enjoy some wine! (Yes, we get up early around here…never enough time in the day!)

My husband and I visited Turley the summer before last and had an excellent experience. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who poured for us – she was extremely knowledgeable about the region, the wine, the building – lots of fun to talk to. LOVE the Turley wine! 🙂 Really enjoying this blog. We live about 4 hours away from Paso Robles and try to visit the area every summer. It’s fun to read your blog and picture where you are. Brings back the best memories. 🙂

Hi Sugar 🙂
That’s very cool that you get up here to visit! We really enjoyed the wines at Turley, too, and once they got going with us the service was very good. It always makes the experience better for us when we can learn from the people behind the counter – they can be such a wealth of knowledge. We’re so glad you like the blog…we’re adding new stuff all the time, so stay tuned!
Cheers,
