Another great interview we got to do while wandering around at the Paso Robles Wine Festival was with Tyler Russell, the Cellar Master, at Zenaida Cellars. This guy is crazy funny and super mellow…and he obviously knows his wine!!
Zenaida is located not too far off the 101 on 46 West. They’ve got a great spot out there…the tasting room is perfect for a picnic or party, and the wines are super interesting! They’ve got lots of interesting blends, fun people and an overall great vibe. They have a B&B upstairs from the tasting room, and Annie even catered a private dinner for some lovely ladies that were staying up there! Fun times!
So, Tyler is probably one of the more intriguing Paso Robles wine personalities that we’ve come across. He says it how it is and doesn’t hold back. He tells us all about what his interpretation of Wine Fest is…hahaha.
Winemaking in the Paso Robles region is all about being traditional, creative, and ingenious, and we happen to think that Tyler helps Zenaida to accomplish all that in the wines that they pour. They all exhibit personality and character, yet some break new ground.
We want to take a minute to throw out a huge “Congratulations” to Tyler and his wife, who are expecting their first child very soon! Good luck and good job guys! Lets get him right into the Paso Robles wine making biz as soon as we can!
Check out the video and see if you can pick up what Tyler’s take on this festival is…pretty damn funny!
