Young Frankenstein Live…Adventure Number 7

February 27, 2012 matt 10 Comments

So we did the movie thing as one of our adventures but then we had this awesome opportunity to go to a musical with some friends this past weekend…yes…a MUSICAL, and that, our friends, became Adventure #7. We’ve each been to a musical before but never together and it had been a long time for either of us, so what a perfect way to hang out with good friends and bring some class to our lives, right? So we headed down to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to see ‘Young Frankenstein’ at their Performing Arts Center (PAC) and it was fantastic.

Young Frankenstein Live and in Person

The Young Frankenstein venue was great, especially for being right in our backyard, and the musical was super cool because they took this Mel Brooks classic and updated some of the humor which in turn gets the audience into it because it becomes more relatable and relevant. We would highly recommend going to a musical or play if you ever have the opportunity, there’s just something about a live performance that’s so much better than a movie. Seeing real people delivering real time art like that is amazing.

The Cal Poly PAC has some other great performances in addition to Young Frankenstein coming up, so if you’re in the area, be sure to check them out. Hey, they even sell local wines and beer in the lobby for your enjoyment!

These little adventures have really been mind bending…any chance you have to do something outside of your norm we suggest you jump all over it. Even the little things just make you look at things differently and at the very least it’s just something new and different. Who wants to do the same thing all the time, anyway?

Have any of you had some great adventures lately? If so, what was it? Where did you go? Had you ever done it before?

I know Gary…it’s sad, really! When’s the next BBQ, or are we still uninvited?
