Heard of Springside Restaurant? Well, we recently checked this place out for breakfast one Saturday morning and it’s quite charming. It sits right on the corner of Spring St. (hence the name Springside) and 17th in Paso Robles, and it boasts a good sized outdoor patio. The patio happens to sit along the Spring St. side of the restaurant, which makes for great people and traffic watching. Obviously they have indoor seating but we did not go inside, we chose to brave a chilly Paso Robles morning (wacky summer weather recently, quite cool) on their patio.
How’s the Food at Springside?
They have a great menu and they are open Monday through Saturday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while on Sunday they are open for breakfast and brunch only (check their website for hours though). From outward appearances it seems like a small little spot so the broad variety of menu selections was unexpected, in a good way. I was also impressed with the service; they were on top of everything. It appeared that it was a husband and wife team serving and bussing tables but the cool thing was that there was a young guy there (maybe 16 ish years old, might have been their son) that was helping out as well and get this…he was polite and actually working! That’s my sarcastic way of saying that it’s shocking to see young people that are that polite…well done Springside!
We had a great experience overall, we will definitely go back. It’s not gourmet food but it’s good portions (not ginormous and not small), good prices, very tasty, and great service. Now get out there and support your small local businesses that get it right!! Cheers! We found this article in the local Tribune that talks about Springside, and explains how its an offshoot from the Creekside Restaurant in Cambria. Check that out, too!

My mom and I try to visit a new restaurant for breakfast every time she comes to town for a visit. We tried Springside a few weekends ago and loved it. The food was great, the menu had a huge selection, and the staff was super friendly. Plus, they allow dogs on the patio…and any restaurant that lets me enjoy my breakfast with my two best friends is okay in my book. 🙂 Hope you two have a lovely day!
