Earth Day Food and Wine Festival

April 19, 2013 matt 2 Comments

This Saturday, tomorrow, is the big event at Pomar Junction Vineyard and Winery. In one of my last blog posts I talked about wine events and asked if there was room for the dozens and dozens of events we have locally or if we were getting a little saturated…now here I am talking about an event.Earth Day Food and Wine Festival is one of a handful of events I get excited about each year due to what they stand for, the folks that show up, and the vibe of the whole thing. Annie and I first went to Earth Day four or five years ago when it was at Santa Margarita Ranch in…wait for it…Santa Margarita. We absolutely fell in love with the event. From day one I’ve called it a big backyard BBQ with a ton of friends and awesome people. The fact that so many come out and support the Central Coast Vineyard Team and their work with sustainability is simply amazing…in my mind.

There’s everything from live music, food, wine, beer, a distillery, landscape and solar reps, animals, and all this happens at this extremely scenic vineyard property! I’m not doing it justice, take a look here to see just how many amazing folks are showing up to bring you the good stuff.

I’m not going to bore you with a 1,000 words of why I love this event but trust me, it’s a must attend in our book. Check out this video by Shawn Burgert here and be sure to check out his blog post on the event here . I think his photos and video help capture what it is I’m talking about.

Cheers folks and I hope to see you out there tomorrow, Saturday, at Pomar Junction!

Oh, and if you’re going to tweet about it use the hashtag, #EDFW13.

Have you been to Earth Day Food and Wine Festival before?

Hey there David, yes we did. It was a little tougher because we took the baby with us but still had a great time. Such a great group of people, wine, and food….and all to support being more sustainable! I will be writing some stuff up about it this week. 🙂
