This weekend, Saturday April 27, from 2 to 5 pm is the first annual Paso Robles CAB Collective event at Windfall Farms. The Grand Tasting will feature ADELAIDA Cellars, B&E Vineyard, Chateau Margene, DAOU Vineyards and Winery, Eberle Winery, Hammersky Vineyards, J.Lohr Vineyards & Wines, Jada Vineyard, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, L’Aventure, Parrish Family Vineyards, Record Family Wines, Robert Hall Winery, Sextant Wines, Venteux, and Vina Robles. The purpose of this Collective is to bring awareness to the wine drinking population that Paso Robles can and is producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon’s and Bordeaux varietals. In their words: “PRCC strives to promote the full potential of the Paso Robles AVA in producing superior quality, classic and age-worthy Cabernet and Bordeaux varietals to consumers, trade and media worldwide.”Due to the fact that we live in Paso Robles we are quite familiar with the wineries involved, some more than others, and it proves to be an interesting event. Eberle, for example, has been here for a long time and has been a big part of the growth of this wine region and when you talk about a winery like J. Lohr…I mean wow, they’re international and have been here in this area for a long time as well.
It will be interesting to see the turnout at this event with it being the first annual. Based on everything I’ve seen, read, and heard…I expect there to be A LOT of interest. The facility they are holding the event at, Windfall Farms, is one of the nicest in the area. As I’ve written about before when we’ve been there for the Paso Robles Garagiste Festival, it is an absolutely unique and breathtaking place on the east side of Paso Robles.
I look forward to reporting back to you on this event. Annie and I are scheduled to be at the media tasting on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm…and we are indeed looking forward to it. On one hand I believe there are a ton of events here…some a little more bland than others, but it’s always nice to see some new events pop up and see what they are able to do and what direction they go.
So are you going to the Paso Robles CAB Collective event? Ready to get your CAB on???
P.S. This is the video for the Paso Robles CAB Collective (A friend of ours shot it and she’s awesome…just saying. Way to go Gina D.) http://vimeo.com/61500217
Can we meet at Caliza after the event or do you think it will be too much for Sammy? We certainly understand if he gets too tired or cranky. I can send you my cell number if want but not on this post 🙂
Jo, as of right now we are only going to the 11 to 1 part of the event and Annie’s mom is coming to babysit while we go to that. So it may work to stop at Caliza after but we may not have Sammy with us…or maybe we could bring Annie’s mom if she decides to spend the night. I thought I had your number…guess not. You can message it to us on Hoot n Annie Facebook or I can give you email.
Whatever works for you guys is fine with us, if her mom is visiting she may want to spend time with you and we certainly understand, don’t want to post phone on here. You can always call email (you have that) call or text. We want to go to Ecluse first so going to Caliza after 1 would be fine but don’t stress really whatever works for you is fine with us 🙂 If Grandma is there let her enjoy 🙂 Again would love to see you but grandparents rule 🙂
Hey it’s Mattt that gets cranky. See you there.
LOL…typically I am cranky until I get wine, Gary!!
I hope to see both of you, Annie and Sammy 🙂 Can’t wait to get out of LA tomorrow!
Jo, Annie’s mom is specifically coming to babysit and probably spend the night. She lives 40 minutes away. My email is mattbrowne76 (at) gmail (dot) com. Email me your number and I will be in touch on Saturday if things work out. 🙂
