Although I have written about social media on here before I normally write about Paso Robles and wine…time for the curveball. I’m actually going to share what my favorite apps are. Here’s why, I use them constantly and I get asked occasionally which apps I use so why not spill the beans here. And we’re spilling beans because spilling wine would be, well, a crime.
As many of you know I do a lot of social media stuff, I write a lot, and we attend lots of wine related events. Therefore my needs are what they are. The obvious apps that I use are Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and all that. I’m not including those in my list even though I use them constantly because I think at this point in the game we all do.
I use this one for writing and writing alone. It has many features I don’t use but I’m a simple guy and my A.D.D. prevents me from learning all the other functions but I really only need the ability to write on the go.
I love this app. I can store stuff in here and retrieve it from any device. It’s like magic…better than unicorns and free coffee.
Although I take almost all my photos from the camera app itself on the phone I always use Instagram to doctor the pics and send them to Facebook and/ or Twitter. I’ve used this one a lot from wine events or wine dinners we’ve attended and it’s the best to serve multiple purposes. I have tons of camera editing apps and I can even doctor the photos through those and save to the phone and then ship to Twitter and Facebook using Instagram…not to mention it posting to Instagram too. I’m heading toward 800 pics posted to Instagram.
This app is my way of keeping up with the 49ers and other football news on the go…or quite frankly when I’m sitting on the couch with a glass of wine. Apps aren’t always for on the go, they’re for info in your hand and up to the minute.
I know these are all some pretty main stream apps but they fit me and what my needs are. Flipboard is such an awesome and aesthetically pleasing way to check out what’s happening. If you haven’t used it you should check it out. I love looking at my social media feeds via Flipboard as well as the blogs and online magazines I read the most. Simple and pleasant…what more could you want from an app. Currently I have some news magazines on there as well as my social media streams like Twitter and Instagram. I’ve also got sites like Fast Company, TEDTalks, and Business Insider hooked up.
What apps do you use the most? If you have something you like more than one of the above let me know and I’ll check it out.
All the above apps I use on my Samsung Galaxy S4 which is Android. All of these are available on iOS as well.
I love those apps. I haven’t tried flipboard yet. I’ll have to check it out. Right now my favorites are the NY Times app, and the WordPress app. If you are in a big city, check out the Uber app. It’s so much better than calling a taxi.
Scott, Flipboard is pretty cool…an interesting way to follow the news outlets you like as well as your social media streams. As for Uber, I’ve never used it but have heard tons of great stuff about it. Next time we’re in a big city we will give it a shot. 🙂
I love Instagram and NFL mobile! I am going to check out Flipboard, I think I downloaded it recently but never took a second look, off to do that now!
Sarah, right on…I’ve had Flipboard for quite some time and as I say it’s just a fun way to go through your news and social media feeds. Cheers! 🙂
Thanks for sharing this! I’ve never heard of Evernote, but think it’s definitely in my future.
Oh my, Elizabeth, Evernote is AWESOME! Let me know what you think. 🙂
Exactly what I was searching for, regards for posting .
