Il Cortile Races to Fight Cancer

March 9, 2015 matt 4 Comments

We received a press release this morning informing us about Il Cortile’s involvement in raising money and awareness for Cancer Support Community through the Tour of Paso cycling event on March 21. I do not share very many press releases because in my mind most of them aren’t really announcing anything all that interesting. This one I find worthy to share because we have all been touched by cancer in some way, shape, or form. It’s a hideous disease that takes far too many lives.

Last year Il Cortile came in first place in funds raised…a staggering $22,000. To raise funds they are having a dinner at the restaurant on March 11 (in 2 days), you can read the press release below for more information. Thank you to Il Cortile, Chef Santos and Carole, for putting forth such great efforts to continue the fight against cancer.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Il Cortile Ristorante Races To Fight Cancer

Team Il Cortile prepares once again for cycling event to benefit Cancer Support Community

March 9, 2015 (Paso Robles, CA) Hoping to repeat their staggering win last year in support for cancer research, the team at Il Cortile Ristorante in Paso Robles will once again race to raise funds for the Cancer Support Community at the upcoming annual Tour of Paso cycling event on March 21, 2015.

The Tour of Paso is a three-distance cycling race for which participants raise funds for work performed by the Cancer Support Community, a resource serving local cancer patients and their families. In 2014, Il Cortile won first place in funds-raised by contributing a towering $22,000, with total contributions from the Tour exceeding $100,000. Furthermore, members of the Il Cortile staff have formed a cycling team for the fourth year, including Owner and Managing Partner, Carole MacDonal.

To celebrate and raise funds for Il Cortile Ristorante’s cycling team, Chef Santos MacDonal and his kitchen will craft a special “reverse wine dinner” menu to complement a bottle of LXV 2013 Crimson Jewel at the restaurant on March 11. Chef Santos will prepare a three-course menu around the bottle of wine for $45 per person plus the cost of the wine. Il Cortile servers will generously donate a portion of their tips from the dinner toward the Il Cortile cycling team and the Cancer Support Community.

“The Tour of Paso and the Cancer Support Community serve a population that is close to our hearts at Il Cortile,” said Carole MacDonal. “Our team has had a wonderful time getting involved and showing our support in previous years, and we’re certain this year will be better than ever. Collectively, we ride for many survivors.”

Reservations for the reverse wine dinner in support of the Il Cortile Cycling Team can be made by phoning the restaurant at 805.226.0300.

Il Cortile is located in downtown Paso Robles at 608 12th Street, and is downtown Paso Robles’ fine dining Italian restaurant. Chef Santos MacDonal crafts seasonal menus with the freshest ingredients sourced from the surrounding local and regional landscapes and provides a vast array of exceptional homemade pastas, fresh seafood, top quality meats and antipasti. A major destination for exquisite wines, picturesque landscapes and beautiful weather, Paso Robles provides the perfect pairing for Il Cortile’s authentic Italian fine dining. www.IlCortileRistorante.com.

Another outstanding place for an excellent meal, especially in the fall when they get the white truffles. Absolutely outstanding. Don’t miss this place.
