We finally made it to one of the Friday Night Music events at Derby, thanks to our friends Janice and Katy who had invited us. It’s something that had been on our list to check out but the problem with living in Paso Robles is that the list of things to go do is always growing.
That said, we’re super stoked we made it a week ago. The music of the evening was Jill knight and as usual, she’s awesome. If you haven’t heard her here on the central coast, put that on your to-do list. The food was presented by, who else, Derby Smokehouse. Here’s what was on the menu:
Appetizer Plate $6.00
Smoked Pork Apple Honey Sausage (Ray’s Own Brand out of San Luis Obispo)
Midnight Moon (Goat Gouda) (Cypress Grove out of Arcata, CA.)
BBQ Dinner Plate $10.00
Ancho Chili Orange Carnitas Street Tacos (3) (Charred pineapple salsa, roasted jalapeno crema)
Jicama & Sweet Red Pepper Slaw
The food was terrific. Annie and I got one appetizer and one plate of the tacos, it was plenty to share. The outdoor patio was perfect, plenty of tables and chairs. We thought it might be a bit too hot but the breeze picked up and it turned out to be a beautiful Paso Robles evening.
It was a perfect night with friends, good music, good grub, and some Derby Albariño. Have you been to Derby’s music Friday’s yet? If you include today, it appears there are only five left. Get over there and check it out.
