As we often do, we had recently had friends over for dinner and I wanted to share with you what Annie prepared. This was one that stood out to me due to all the flavors coming together on one plate. Let’s take a look at what Annie made:
Appetizer:
Pan-Seared Shrimp marinated in chili garlic sauce and rice wine vinegar, served with a ginger, garlic, chili, sesame dipping sauce and pita crackers
Main Course:
Pork Loin marinated in apple juice and apple cider vinegar, garlic, salt, allspice and pepper, seared in bacon fat then braised in the marinade. Topped with braised apple and caramelized onion chutney.
Mashed red potatoes with roasted garlic, chives, and green onion.
Steamed green beans seared in bacon fat with toasted slivered almonds and lemon zest.
Butter leaf lettuce salad with pears, toasted hazelnuts, and gorgonzola with a walnut oil and apple cider vinaigrette.
I did not have a favorite. It was all really good. Thankfully there were some leftovers that we got to enjoy. As is the usual when I am caught up with people, I forget to take good photos of each individual food but below you will see a couple of shots from the table along with photos of the wines we had with it.
Cheers to friends, food, and wine!
