On our way back from Longbranch Saloon in Creston recently, we decided to stop in at Still Waters Vineyards. Truth be told, we haven’t been there in roughly 8 or 9 years. I’m not sure why, we enjoyed it back then as well. Just one of those things I suppose.
That said, this was a great visit. We had Sammy with us and I’m not sure whether they promote themselves as family-friendly but it definitely is. They have a nice big grassy area outside the tasting room along with a beautiful koi pond as well as an area kind of up above filled with huge olive trees. The views from up there are amazing. As it should be as they do weddings there.
As for the wine tasting we did. I screwed up a wee bit. I had a sheet where I marked which wines we tasted and conveniently forgot it at the winery. What I can say, however, is that they have a nice list of white and red wines that we enjoyed quite a bit while enjoying the grassy area and the views. The gentlemen that took care of us was very cool, informative, and brought each new taste out to us.
We purchased some Chardonnay and their Cuvee Blanc. Be sure to check out their website for their full list of wines or in the photos below you will see a list as well.
The bottom line on Still Waters is this, the place is absolutely beautiful. You could go just for the amazing views. But why stop there, taste the wines because I know you’ll find at least a few that you will enjoy…I promise. Super cool spot and not too far from where we live. I know we’ll keep this place on our radar and be back soon. If you make it out there let us know what you think. Cheers!
