Where to Taste: CalWise Spirits Co.

April 22, 2019 matt Leave a Comment

This was our first visit to CalWise. We had heard some good things so added it to the never-ending list of places to go. Their tasting room is located at the newer industrial area (on Ramada Dr.) before you go down in to Tin City. They are next to Anglim Winery, KiloKilo Brewing, and Seven Oxen Winery. The tasting room is very inviting, like a place you’d actually want to hang out for a while.

In addition to doing a tasting, they make cocktails. I ordered an Old Fashioned and Annie did the tasting. Although I did partake in her tasting line up. Side note, the Old Fashioned was legit.

Here’s what we tasted:

Blonde Rum $35.00

Big Sur Gin $35.00

Smoked Big Sur Gin $45.00

Spiced Rum $35.00

Industrial Blonde Rum $45.00

Orange Liqueur $32.00

Barrel Reserve Orange Liqueur $35.00

We enjoyed the tasting. Good stuff for sure. Annie picked up a bottle of the Big Sur Gin. It’s nice that they do the cocktails as well. In addition to the Old Fashioned they also have a seasonal Gin & Tonic, Pineapple Mojito, Mai Tai, and several more. Quite the selection.

The great thing about this location is you have beer (KiloKilo Brewing), wine (Anglim, Seven Oxen, and others), and spirits all right there. Sure to please any and all of your adult beverage drinking friends.
