Notes to preface my below commentary:
If you are offended by the below commentary, I’m guessing you’re possibly guilty of the topic.
Also, if you’re offended by the below commentary, I may or may not be sorry, but I won’t tell you.
When it comes to most things in life I try to operate at the highest level of integrity. I do like to speed from time to time, though.
One basic rule I have is to stay out of everyone else’s way. Whether I’m in a store or at the local brewery or dropping my kid off at school, I don’t want to be in your way or appear entitled or cocky at all. I’m nobody.
Now, on to my complaints…
I’m stunned at the folks that park in red zones, in front of fire hydrants, block driveways, and even stop in the middle of the road to drop their kids off at school. I don’t want to assume anything but here’s my take, for those that don’t follow basic parking rules I feel you either feel entitled or you’re just lazy. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I would love to drop my kid off right in front and get the hell out of there but I don’t, I drive my happy ass down the road anywhere from half a block to a block and park my damn car and when it’s time for my kid to go into to school I walk him up to the gate. That’s it. It’s not hard. I’m not afraid to walk. I’m not afraid of being outside. I don’t feel entitled and I’m not lazy…at least when it comes to this.
The folks that are parking (and turning their car off) or stopping and putting their car in park but leaving it running, you are in the way and, in my opinion, showing us who you are as a human. Do not park in red zones. Do not block driveways. Do not block fire hydrants. Do not park in other people’s parking spaces across from the school in the apartments (speaking of my kid’s school specifically). I just don’t get it.
I’m also not a big fan of complaining, which I realize I am doing here, but I just wanted to vent because I witness this dumb ass behavior four days a week in the morning when I drop my boy off. So, all of this aside, keep doing what you’re doing, because who am I?
