Which baseball team will Little Browne like…Dodgers or Giants? Which football team…the 49ers? We recently hooked up with the sports fanatics over at BabyFans.com that not only have some amazingly awesome baby sports gear but actually have a pretty neat story to boot (check that out at http://www.babyfans.com/about-us.aspx). They offered up a $50.00 gift code for us to pick a few items to check out and talk about which we were stoked to do so Annie and I can force Little Browne to “like” the teams we like…for a while anyways.
I happen to like the Dodgers and Giants in baseball (no, I’m not bipolar) and Annie likes the Giants, while we both love the 49ers in the NFL. Cousin Mary had already gotten Little Browne a Giants outfit so we got a super cool 49er beanie (toboggan or whatever else you may call it, ski cap) and a Dodger outfit. The third item we got is on its way which we’ll let you know about in the next blog post about BabyFans (you’ll see why more than one post about them shortly).
The items look fantastic and come with all the officially licensed tags and labels which is cool, and one of the best parts is that they are priced well. The 49er beanie is marked at $12.00 and the Dodger outfit was $20.00, not bad at all in my opinion. Depending on the team you pick they have quite the selection of items ranging from sippie cups to hats to shirts to pacifiers…seems like you could cover many of baby’s needs and please the adults around by having a bunch of teams representing…although that could also cause in-fighting and whatnot, but that’s fun too.
Free Stuff For YOU from BabyFans.com!!!
So, let’s get down to brass tacks! BabyFans.com has given us two $25 gift codes to giveaway so we will be giving one away via this particular blog post and another one in the near future. This is how we’re doing it…everyone that comments with a legit answer to the question by 5pm PST on Thursday (7-19-12) will be put into a hat and one name will be pulled and that’s the winner of one $25 gift code for BabyFans.com. There will be no cheating on our end, fair is fair…maybe we’ll even video the pulling of the name.
So here’s the question:

Very cool website – slightly limited on the back-to-back American League Champions merchandise though. Awesome that they are in cahoots with Hoot-N-Annie for Little’s website! Best parenting advice – do your best to sleep when the baby sleeps!
AnnieBrowne says
@HeatherBrowneDearborn They get new merchandise in regularly, so check back to see if they have what you’re looking for! Thanks for the parenting advice…we’ll see if we can get Hoot to take a nap when the baby naps! 😉 He’s hard to pin down, ya know!
HeatherBrowneDearborn says
@AnnieBrowne I don’t think they will ever have what I’m looking for – time for Auntie Heather to get creative!!!

@HeatherBrowneDearborn Go crazy, girl! But we can’t promise that he’ll be happy in a Rangers outfit…hehehe

Every child is different. Listen to advice (everyone has it, trust me) and do what works for your family. Best wishes! So happy for you two…three! 🙂
AnnieBrowne says
@JenniferWorthington Thank you so much, Jennifer! We’re taking in all the advice and will see how we do once he gets here. I’m sure we’ll need all the help we can get, but look forward to finding our way through it all!

Best parenting advice ever received or heard- love and respect your child unconditionally. Bring them up in the name of the Lord and take them to church and get him baptized. Children are a gift from God, they are his reward.
AnnieBrowne says
@Beverlya That’s good stuff, Bev! Thanks for sharing. Our kid will definitely have our unconditional love and respect!!! We feel very fortunate to have this little one coming and will cherish every minute. Thank you!

MattOrtman says
That your children should feel safe, secure and feel confident in themselves. As long as they know they are always loved, even when you’re mad they’ll feel secure. Asking them if they are proud when they accomplish something, rather than only telling them you are proud keeps them from just trying to please others and do things for their own pride and enjoyment. I know it doesn’t really help with a baby but it sure has been good advice to live by with toddlers and up!
MatthewLiberty says
@MattOrtman I dig that a lot Matt. Annie and I talk a lot about wanting to raise a kid that has self confidence and courage and comfort in his own skin…things I did not have until the last 5 or so years. Cheers man, you’re doing a good job!
blakekaplan says
The best advice is that every child is different and you’ve got to spend the time with the child to know what works. You can read 10 parenting books, but trial and error with each of your children will yield the best results.
MatthewLiberty says
@blakekaplan Cheers to that, it’s common sense but for some reason many parents don’t do that!! Good reminder. Thanks Blake!!
