Why does it matter if Obama has a birth certificate? Well, it matters because it is the law that you must be an American citizen in order to be President of the United States. And to be completely honest, this is NOT about party affiliation, every person running for President should have to show an actual birth certificate.
Obama finally produced a birth certificate today that shows him to be a citizen…why was this not brought forth sooner in order to avoid all the drama (mostly rekindled by Donald Trump)? What you do by waiting this long to produce the document, is make people skeptical of the authenticity of that document.
This actually has nothing to do with politics, this is about communication and openness. Whether you are running for President or interacting with your spouse or running a business…we are creating our legacy and reputation with every word spoken and every action taken.
So as much as I don’t really care about the whole President birth certificate thing, I do care that as a relatively intelligent human being, Obama did not produce this document earlier…because now (and since the election) the airwaves are full of all this wasted noise and drama.

Even more interesting is someone who is lining up to run for office would spend ANY time at ALL on this issue! Tell me how you are going to contain inflation that is looming on the horizon. Or what is your plan to give incentives to the American public to buy vehicles that are not dependant on oil. And oh yes, when are we going to stop trying to solve the whoas of the Middle East when whether we are there or not they are going to continue in one form or another as they have since Biblical times.
Does President Obama have a birth certificate? A day late and a dollar short to even be asking. If his presidency ended today you cannot negate that which has already happened. And coming from Illinois where the GOP is chomping at the bit to end the Democratic stronghold on the state in general, don’tcha think an issue would have been made about it when he first ANNOUNCED while still an Illinois US Senator?

Agreed Cheri, and just to put it on the table…I am not Democrat or Republican, I’m tired of all of it. The Obama birth certificate thing has been a question for a few years now yet time keeps ticking and he continues to be our President, like it or not. As for Trump, if it took him babbling endlessly to push Obama to produce the document…I’m glad it happened, maybe now we can move to the actual problems that they should be solving…although I have no faith in our current system to solve those problems.
