I’m disappointed in how some things are going in this world.
I’m disappointed in our news media, entertainment culture in Hollywood, lack of accountability, the willingness to screw our children out of an education thereby screwing the future of this country, people that are oblivious to what is going on around them, people that think the government should take care of them and the government that thinks they should take care of everyone, bad parents and parents that are not involved in their children’s lives, lack of compassion, lack of self respect, greed, people that complain all the time, and the fact that we are so blind to how much of a gift this life really is.
What are you doing?
What are you doing to make anything better? Are you more concerned with your bank account than people? Do you think Republicans are 100% wrong? Do you think Democrats are 100% wrong? Do you think keeping gay people from getting married is saving our society? Do you have a cause? Are you a catalyst? Are you kind to others when they are unkind to you? Do you lack compassion for others yet expect it from others? When you’re dead…what will “they” say?
I don’t know about you but I’ve always been a deep thinker and that does not mean that I’m smart, it simply means that I naturally think about things below the surface. And what I’m seeing below the surface scares the crap out of me.

I believe you are speaking truth…well depending on what truth is to you according to the latest polls and what media pundents are saying on your preferred source of truth.

Loshel, that’s the issue – what do you mean by “what truth is to you” – there is only one truth. And it should be what you feel deeply inside is right. Where your moral values are. If you don’t feel right about a source of info, it should be your journey to research more on the topic to form your own opinion on it. I completely agree with Matt. Too sad that we didn’t learn enough of history to be careful not to repeat the same mistakes that were already done, too sad that we were too lazy to pay attention until it’s almost too late (when was the last time you checked what kind of history is thought to your children at school?). Too sad we got t point when we can’t have civilized discussion if one have a different point of view without being called names or being ridiculed. I grew up in communist country. I live in America and am amazed how many Americans have no idea about what they HAVE and how many are taking it for granted. Simply because they think it’s the norm everywhere. No, it isn’t. That’s why people risked their lives to come here.
Not for hand-outs (that’s lately) but for the opportunity and freedoms they were denied in their own countries. We should educate our self in history before we make judgments about current events. They ARE repeating history. And I, because I have seen the consequences of many of events going on right now, am also worried to death for this country. Maybe some can’t imagine, because they haven’t been there.
But educate yourself, speak to people that can give you the other prospective – and most importantly, be active, and go and vote the people that you truly in your heart believe will represent your best interest. And hold them accountable. The way politicians are today is the result of our laziness -not paying attention. And, be honest – where your own moral values went? I know I have to do a lot of soul searching myself. Great blog, Matt!

Losh, finding the “truth” is always a tough thing. Where is it? What is it? most things we’re told via the media (print, radio, tv, online) is skewed one way or another…even if it is slight, skewed nonetheless. It’s a battle man…cheers to ya buddy!!!

Enlightened thought process here.

Vera…thank you!! And I think there can be “different truths” based on what your own individual constitution is but at the end of the day we have 300 million plus people living in the United States and it’s okay to have a different way to get something done…but we have to compromise, educate ourselves, be respectful of others, and most importantly be accountable and hold others accountable. You have definitely seen a lot growing up in another country…Americans are lazy and entitled in many many ways…I agree. It’s time to start having the conversation and pushing people to get up and do something. Cheers Vera!!
Matt says
Joe…but do you mean that?? LOL

The wine industry is quite lucrative and if you are passionate about the area you definitely will be looking forward to land a good job in your area of interest. But one fact about wine jobs is that it can be very difficult to land a top job, especially without relevant experience even though you may have the papers.
