I have big dreams…and I love to talk about them. I have dreams about the shape I’d like to be in post-baby and how healthy I’d like to be. I have big visions of how I’d like to write about my experiences, my ups and downs, and share them with you here. I even talk about how I’ll feed the baby tons of local, healthy foods that will help him to grow big and strong and healthy, and he’ll follow all my great examples.<\/p>\n

What’s the problem with all these dreams??? Nothing, except for the fact that I’m TALKING about them instead of living them! Sure…I go to CrossFit and workout 4-5 times a week, I love salads and cook healthy at home, and Sammy is almost old enough to start eating solid foods, but that’s just not enough! When I go to CrossFit do I leave knowing that I’ve given the workout everything I’ve got??? Truthfully, not always. Do I always make the right food choices when we go out to eat??? Definitely not always!<\/p>\n

This bothers me about myself! Why should I even have goals and dreams if I’m not going to honor them??? Why bother doing any of it if I’m going to do it half-ass??? Maybe it’s because I’m afraid that I can’t really obtain the level of fitness that I envision in my dream…but I’ve been there! Why is this time around any different? Was I a stronger person back then? Did I have more conviction or dedication? Maybe I’m getting lazy. Maybe it’s just how things are these days…we take our health and wellness for granted. We think it’s just always going to be there and we don’t have to do much about it. That approach isn’t going to get anybody anywhere!!!<\/p>\n

Well, right here, right now, I’m committing to doing MORE!!! More exercise, focused exercise, more good food choices, and more dedication. Why not? It makes me feel good inside and out, instead of feeling regret. Less talk, more action (isn’t that a line from a song?) is my new approach. I want my son to see me DO healthy things, not just talk about them, and I want to feel a sense of accomplishment as I attain my goals. It’s not about hemming and hawing over it, or analyzing and discussing, or waiting for SOMEthing to happen…it’s about just doing it. Now.<\/p>\n
