It&#8217;s entirely based on the Paleo diet, but with a few small modifications here and there. I completely agree with getting rid of refined sugars, processed foods, and simple carbs, I still need my wine!!! Yeah, less wine, but Mama needs her medicine sometimes. Logic, moderation, and REAL food are my main ingredients! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;ve been trying to come up with meat and veg combos that have the texture combination of that carb effect. I&#8217;ve done all kinds of things with cauliflower; mashed, &#8220;rice&#8221;, and even tortillas, but this time I tried cabbage as the &#8220;carb&#8221;. Turns out it can act a lot like noodles! So, here&#8217;s what I did to make Almond Chicken with Cabbage Noodles:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/anniebrowne\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/photo189.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-379\" alt=\"photo(189)\" src=\"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/anniebrowne\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/photo189.jpg\" width=\"215\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/anniebrowne\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/photo189.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/anniebrowne\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2013\/06\/photo189-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a>1\/2 head of green cabbage, sliced cross-wise<\/p>\n<p>2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized chunks<\/p>\n<p>6 green onions, sliced coarsely<\/p>\n<p>A couple of handfuls of raw almonds, chopped coarsely<\/p>\n<p>Soy Sauce, Garlic Salt, and some Black Pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>I sauteed the chicken in a hot pan with Olive Oil, seasoned it with a little of the Soy Sauce and when it was pretty well cooked, I added the green onion and cabbage. After the veggies were in, I re-seasoned to taste. Then, saute until the &#8220;noodles&#8221; are still a little bit firm, and voila! Top it with the chopped almonds and enjoy! You could add more veggies, depending on what you have, and what you like; broccoli, peppers, celery, etc.<\/p>\n<p>And by the way, it pairs nicely with a glass of chilled Viognier if you&#8217;re feeling rebellious, like I was!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re eating what I call &#8220;Paleo Style&#8221; these days.
