Wine Tasting: CaliPaso Winery

August 10, 2017 matt Leave a Comment

CaliPaso is a pretty new winery located in downtown Paso Robles on 13th Street by the new Naked Fish restaurant. It’s actually a great location. A block off the park and right near several great Paso restaurants and shops.

The tasting room is modern, spacious, and has plenty of seating. It also boasts a great outdoor patio to do your tasting and of course…people watch. Who doesn’t enjoy the great American pastime of people watching? You can see a few photos of the tasting room in the slideshow below.

The menu:

2015 CP Chardonnay $20.00

2015 CP Cabernet Sauvignon $22.00

2015 CaliPaso Cuvee Blanc (33% Marsanne 30% Viognier 25% Grenache Blanc 12% Roussanne) $22.00

2016 CaliPaso Chardonnay $25.00

2014 CaliPaso Cabernet Sauvignon $30.00

2014 CaliPaso Tempranillo $30.00

2014 CaliPaso Zinfandel $30.00

2016 Reserve CaliPaso Chardonnay (200 cases) $35.00

2014 3 Hounds Pinot Noir (112 cases) $45.00

2013 “The Kinne” CaliPaso Reserve Tempranillo $45.00

These were the wines listed on the menu in the tasting room but we did not taste all of them. Fun wines and check out those price points. We were headed to the Concert in the Park the night we stopped in so we bought one bottle of the Cuvee Blanc to take. A cool blend with some of our favorite white wines.

Be sure to check them out next time you’re downtown. It’s a fun spot with an easy-going vibe. A good spot to sit and watch the big city life (kidding) of Paso Robles roll by. Thank you to Jamee for taking care of us and bringing her son’s toys out from the back for Sammy to play with.

Side note, CaliPaso took over the old Villa Toscana Bed & Breakfast property (now called CaliPaso Winery and Villa) which is where they make their wine and have seven guestrooms and suites.
