What’s So Great About Your Town?

December 12, 2012 matt 4 Comments

As you might have read in our previous blog post there is plenty of “GREAT” about my town. There are all the obvious things like wine and food here in Paso Robles, not to mention the close proximity to some absolutely amazing coastline and so on…but there is a history here in this area that you can really sink your teeth in to.

Around every corner there is an old building, old schoolhouse, stories of Jesse James, Paderewski, the first vineyards, the farming, the Paso Robles Inn and its healing natural baths dating back to 1891, the numerous famous folks that wandered through Paso back in the day and stopped at the Paso Inn, and how the Pittsburgh Pirates use to have their baseball spring training here.

The point is…it’s amazing. If you’re anything like me, history is a rather indescribable thing, especially when you have the opportunity to see it and touch it when you wander through the community. I’m including some links below that briefly tell about some of the history mentioned above. If you are a fan of Paso Robles at all, I urge you to read through some of it…you will love it even more after you read it. I would then encourage you to go forth and dive into some of the history of your local area…wherever that may be. See if you can find something fascinating…and I would love it if you’d share it with us here in the comments or on our Facebook page!

Cheers folks and Happy 12-12-12…I’m not really into the numbers stuff but it’s a great excuse to celebrate!

I really don’t have the time to list all the great things about Paso. Therefore I will list the only 2 things about Paso that I don’t like.
1 There is no Paso Robles opera company and Opera house.
2 There is no designated parking place for me on the streets surronding city park. I would prefer a 12th St. location between Park and Pine, thank you very muich.

Haha…love it Gary. I actually wouldn’t mind some venue that had opera and/ or plays. As for the parking spot…I will see what i can do, maybe I’ll go ask Duane Picanco.
