Wine Tasting At Venteux Vineyards

April 5, 2013 matt 8 Comments

We recently made our way over to Venteux Vineyards in Templeton, just south of Paso Robles, to do some tasting. This is another one of those spots that we haven’t been to for some time so we’ve been trying to fix that.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The rolling hills and vineyards that surround the tasting room and winery are the definition of what this area is about. The really cool thing though is that not only can you enjoy the scenery while wine tasting but if you feel like it you can book the B&B that is right next to the winery.

The B&B looks absolutely amazing from the outside, we have not been in it but I imagine it’s fantastic on the inside too. So make a mental note of that and book them on your next trip to the Paso Robles/Templeton area!!

The folks pouring wine in the tasting room were great, friendly and informative! We had Sammy with us so the other folks in there tasting, along with the two ladies pouring, got distracted with his striking good looks (haha). They have a great covered patio area right outside the tasting room too, which is perfect for those warm central coast days!!

How about the wines?

Here’s what we tasted:

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

2009 Grenache

2009 Mourvedre

2010 Mourvedre

2009 Tache Le Verre (100% Syrah)

All the wines were nice but we walked away with the Cab Sauv, the Tache Le Verre, and the Rose (which was not being poured but we love Rose).

All in all it was another great tasting room experience here in paradise!

Have you been to Venteux before?

ah, makes sense. I am so looking forward to doing a winery tour over there one day. I’ve been to many wine regions in the world but that one has escaped me and I really love some of the robust reds produced over there!

I am currently in Singapore – not exactly wine country 😉 I am Australian though and I also lived in the UK for a number of years and visited many wine areas in Europe

Bought a mixed case from Venteux in late Oct. Enjoying some Tache La Verre with slow cooked shortribs for Xmas dinner this evening. When we tasted, we liked this the best, but I have to say the Grenache and Raucous are very tasty as well…I like your vids and blog, keep it up!!

Tim, that’s awesome. Shortribs sound fantastic. We enjoy their wines, need to get back over there soon. Merry Christmas and thank you very much!
