Located in downtown Paso Robles, just a couple of blocks off the main square, is Ortman Family Vineyards’ Tasting Room. \u00a0http:\/\/www.ortmanvineyards.com\/<\/a>. \u00a0This is a family run operation, Dad Chuck and son Matt make the wines and bring a lot of experience to the table. \u00a0Chuck has been in the business for 40 years and has some awesome stuff on his resume, including coming in 4th place in the world tasting in Paris in 1976! \u00a0Matt spent time in Italy making wine, so he really knows his Italian varietals and it shows when you taste their Sangiovese. \u00a0Ortman has some wonderful Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as well as a lovely Rose and some other nice, big reds.<\/p>\n

Another really cool thing is that the tasting room is totally “green”, from the flooring to the plumbing to the tasting counter! \u00a0It’s beautifully done and it’s a great place to go hang out and taste the delicious wines.<\/p>\n
