Not sure I like the word \u201cslurpings\u201d\u2026our friend Kendall that works at Edward Sellers Winery <\/a>calls late afternoon wine \u201cshmackins\u201d; which I think sounds better. So kudos to Kendall!<\/p>\n

Anyway, this isn\u2019t about Kendall (sorry KC), it\u2019s about recent things I have been sipping on since Annie can\u2019t help me\u2026the things I do for humanity!! I don\u2019t always take notes because most of you probably don\u2019t care. Many of these were samples, although some were not.<\/p>\n

So, let’s get to it…<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2009 Columbia Valley Buried Cane <\/a>No Oak Chardonnay (Middleton Family Wines sample) Nose: nutty, orange, taffy, candy. Palate: slightly sweet, nutty, orange peel.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2009 Ad Lib<\/a> Chardonnay- Western Australia (Middleton Family Wines sample) Overall notes I took: wet stone, crushed rocks, liked the acid, coastal nose and palate (I\u2019m guessing I meant that it reminded me of the coast\u2026I\u2019m wacky that way)<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2010 Ad Lib<\/a> Chardonnay- Western Australia (Middleton Family Wines sample) Nose: slight candy, wet grass, limey. Palate: light, stone, lemon.<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2010 GEN 5<\/a> Chardonnay (Clarksburg, CA.) This was given to us at the recent pre-grand opening party at BevMo in Paso Robles.<\/p>\n

5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Main & Geary<\/a> 2010 Chardonnay (Sonoma County) This too was given to us at the recent pre-grand opening party at BevMo in Paso Robles.<\/p>\n

6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2010 October Night Chardonnay (J. Lohr<\/a>\/Arroyo Seco) This wine I love because it has meaning to Annie and I. When we got married 8-1-08 this was the wine (although different year) that we had during the ceremony that we sipped on. One of our favorites!<\/p>\n

7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sierra Nevada<\/a> Summerfest Lager \u2013 not my favorite but certainly not the worst thing I\u2019ve had to drink.<\/p>\n

8)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Duvel<\/a> Belgian Golden Ale \u2013 me likey a lot!<\/p>\n

9)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Alta Colina<\/a> Grenache Blanc (Estate) \u2013 Maggie, thanks for sharing when we were there for that meeting!! This rocked!<\/p>\n

10)\u00a0\u00a0 2008 Tobin James<\/a> Rock-n-Roll Syrah \u2013 I\u2019m not a big Syrah fan and when I do partake I prefer cool climate. But I do know LOTS of people dig this bad boy!<\/p>\n

11)\u00a0\u00a0 2010 J. Lohr <\/a>Arroyo Seco Viognier (Gesture) \u2013 Good stuff, solid Viognier for sure!!<\/p>\n

12)\u00a0\u00a0 2009 Edward Sellers <\/a>Le Passage Estate (43% Grenache Blanc, 36% Roussanne, 21% Marsanne) \u2013 This\u2026I love!<\/p>\n

13)\u00a0\u00a0 2009 Chamisal Vineyards<\/a> Edna Valley Chardonnay \u2013 We (well, me) enjoyed this while hanging out with Annie\u2019s mom, Karen at Chamisal\u2026beautiful day and awesome wine!<\/p>\n

14)\u00a0\u00a0 2011 McManis Family Vineyards <\/a>Pinot Grigio (sample) \u2013 lemon, pear, apricot, pineapple\u2026uhhh\u2026lots of fruity stuff!!<\/p>\n

15)\u00a0\u00a0 Bud Light<\/a> \u2013 I\u2019m including this because I don\u2019t care that you will think less of me. I\u2019m comfortable when I look in the mirror. What can I say\u2026haters gonna hate\u2026right?<\/p>\n

So\u2026this is just some of what has aided in keeping me sane recently. I don\u2019t remember to take pictures of everything but I do pretty good, the slideshow below has pictures of all the labels mentioned above. What have YOU been drinking? Cheers!<\/p>\n\n\n
