I can\u2019t really pinpoint why that is, maybe you have some thoughts you can share about that, but I think there is this non-commercial innocence or purity about it. I also love our local community and the activities that go on around the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July\u2026from parades to live music to fireworks\u2026and everybody gathering to eat, drink, and celebrate America. The fact that my middle name is Liberty is pretty awesome too!!<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>How We Spent Our Small Town 4th of July<\/h3>\n<p>We started our 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July down in Templeton to watch the parade from our friend Neil\u2019s wine tasting room (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clavocellars.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Clavo Cellars<\/a>) where he sets up quite the shindig. It\u2019s great because it\u2019s right smack on Main Street where the parade goes by.<\/p>\n<p>From there we went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardsellers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Edward Sellers Winery<\/a> to see some friends and hang out for a bit. Once we wrapped that up we headed over to this new sandwich spot that I heard about from our friends over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pithywine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pithy Little Wine Company<\/a>. The new joint is called Monteverde\u2019s and we checked it out with our buddy Jeff\u2026not bad at all, if you check it out I\u2019d love to hear your thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>After feeding ourselves (pregnant girl too) Annie and I headed out to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pearvalley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pear Valley Winery<\/a> to see some friends and enjoy the AMAZING views and scenery. I think I ended up having more wine then I should have but hey, you only live once. We tried a new wine they released\u2026Charbono, pretty interesting. It reminded Annie of a Barbera or Sangiovese\u2026yes, Annie did have a sip of wine, no hate mail please.<\/p>\n<p>We had a blast at Pear Valley, saw a bunch of friends (Lisa, Jeff, JJ, and many more) and really enjoyed relaxing out there amongst the vineyards. Last thing on the itinerary was stopping by our friend Christie\u2019s house. She has an awesome view where we can see the fireworks at Cellar 360 (formerly Meridian Winery) and at Barney Schwartz Park. An awesome day full of wine, food, great friends (especially our friend \u201cPapa\u201d Jeff, awesome spending the day with him), and celebrating a small town 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July.<\/p>\n<p>The photos in the slideshow below will give you a glimpse of our day and what that small town 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July parade is like.
