So this is Hoot ‘n Annie’s adventure number 24 of 50 for 2012. For those that have not been following along, we made it a goal to do 50 Adventures in 2012 with the goal being to get outside our normal day to day stuff and do 50 new things or go to 50 new places we have not been together. Life is short, it\u2019s important to adventure and we believe that each new adventure expands the mind and adds a spark to our lives!!<\/span><\/p>\n

We had been talking about being more active and that\u2019s why some of our adventures have included hikes and things of that nature but we had also talked about picking up a sport that the two of us can do together. Our neighbor, Simon is an avid tennis guy and we figured it would be a good and relatively easy sport to get involved in\u2026not a lot of overhead (especially because we borrowed rackets from Simon).<\/span><\/p>\n

So this past Saturday we went over to Centennial Park<\/a> off of Creston Road on Nickerson Road and gave this wacky racket sport a try\u2026you know what we found out the next morning? That tennis will make you hurt in places you didn\u2019t know existed!! I\u2019m not complaining though, we had a blast and it was a great workout. We played for about an hour to an hour and a half and to be honest, there’s nothing quite like playing tennis with a 6.5 month pregnant girl.<\/span><\/p>\n

We came, we played, we sweat (like Paso Roblans on a 110 degree day), we hydrated, we burned calories, and we laughed. Seriously people\u2026turn the television off and get up and go. No matter where you live there is amazing stuff to go experience. There are new places to visit, new trails to walk, new sports to try…we don\u2019t have a ton of time left in this life, it may seem like it but the fact is we don\u2019t. Do something different, TODAY; drive a new route to work, go for a walk with a friend, call in sick, take your kid to the beach, or come up with some other wacky new adventure!<\/span><\/p>\n

If pregnant Annie can fo CrossFit three or four days per week and still go waddle around a tennis court there\u2019s no excuse for the rest of us!<\/span><\/p>\n

Side note about Centennial Park\u2026this place is pretty damn cool. They have four tennis courts, basketball courts, I saw a baseball field, and there was a big pool and kiddie pool but they were fenced off; not sure when they use those. Check it out!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
