Wow, time sure does fly, doesn’t it?!?! Seems like we were just talking about Christmas and New Year’s and all the celebrating that goes along with the Holidays. Here we are at yet another Holiday, and another opportunity to celebrate! We’ll be hanging out with family and friends on Easter Sunday, but will be sure to celebrate all weekend. <\/p>\n
With all this in mind, we thought we’d offer up some Easter pairing suggestions for your celebrating enjoyment:<\/p>\n
– Good Friday goes really well with some micro-brewed beer and live music if at all possible. If you can’t find live music, just crank something really good on the iPod while you sip on a cold one.<\/p>\n
– Easter Eve morning (otherwise known as Saturday morning) should be ushered in with a nice spicy Bloody Mary. Why? Why NOT!?!?<\/p>\n
– Saturday afternoon could be well spent sipping on a chilled Rose on the back patio. Don’t have a back patio? How about a front porch (it’s okay, the neighbors already know you like to drink wine).<\/p>\n
– Saturday Evening should bring the arrival of some dirty martinis. I prefer a dirty Ketel One martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives. Consider this a palate cleanser for tomorrow.<\/p>\n
– Easter morning demands mimosas. No explanation necessary.<\/p>\n
– You can almost always drink spiked coffee with any color of Peeps. Note: “spiked” implies any alcohol…get creative!<\/p>\n
– Easter Egg hunting is much more enjoyable with another one of those cold micro-brews in hand! Not hunting eggs??? So what…drink beer and wander aimlessly around in the back yard anyway!<\/p>\n
– The obligatory deviled eggs that somebody inevitably brings always go well with Gin and Tonic. I have no idea why, but just go blank when trying to think of something to pair with re-purposed eggs!<\/p>\n
– Easter Dinner: Pull out all the stops! Go big!!! Rose with ham, Pinot Noir with lamb, Chardonnay with chicken, Syrah with bacon, Zinfandel with chocolate.<\/p>\n
