Hope Family Wines has been around for a long time…they purchased the property from the Wagner family in ’95.\u00a0 The Wagner Family has been in the wine biz since ’78 and their Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon used to be Caymus’ second label.\u00a0 The Liberty School Cab is now HFW’s largest production and uses all Paso Robles fruit, sourced from about 55 growers.\u00a0 Sound like a lot of growers?\u00a0 Well, it takes a lot of grapes to make approximately 300,000 cases of wine!\u00a0 That’s their flagship wine, and on top of that, they make another 50,000 cases.<\/p>\n
Hope Family Wines produces wines under 4 different labels; Liberty School, Treana, Candor, and Austin Hope.\u00a0 Each label has their own characteristics and goals, but the end product is always the same:\u00a0 good, quality wines!<\/p>\n
HFW’s latest release is their “West Side Red – Troublemaker”.\u00a0 It’s a Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre blend and it’s already gaining quite a bit of notoriety!\u00a0 You might say “There’s a lot of that blend around” and to that we’d say, “Yeah, but the unique thing about this wine is that it’s multi-vintage!”\u00a0 They’ve got fruit from ’07, ’08, and ’09 blended into that Troublemaker and what comes through is complexity from the older vintages and fruit and brightness from the younger vintages.\u00a0 It’s a fun wine that happens to have a great price point – $22\/bottle.\u00a0 A fun new wine deserves a fun new angle – a video introducing the wine that’s a parody on the TV show “The Office”.<\/p>\n
