I don\u2019t know about where you live, but here in Paso Robles there are tons of wine events! Which makes sense since there are 200 plus wineries in the Paso area. My question is, is it possible to have too many events centered around the same thing?<\/p>\n
There have been so many new events in the last few years like the Paso Robles Garagiste Festival and this year the all-new Paso Robles CAB Collective event which is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux wines. Other events like Hospice du Rhone have left, though so there has been some room made, I suppose, but we also have beer events now and even Crush and Roll; a cigar and wine event that\u2019s been going for several years now. But wait, there’s more, this year the annual Zinfandel Festival didn\u2019t have an actual event, instead they changed the format to one where each winery could do their own thing at their establishment.<\/p>\n
What type of events do you prefer? Do you like the ones like the Paso Robles Wine Festival which has a bunch of wineries pouring in the downtown park or do you prefer the more niche events that focus on small wineries, Pinot Noir, or Cabernet Sauvignon? Is there room for all of them? Will it hit a saturation point? In the end I guess it\u2019s like capitalism or the animal kingdom, the strong will survive.<\/p>\n
How about from the winery’s point of view\u2026is it profitable for them? Are they REALLY getting recognition, brand awareness, and\/ or sales through pouring at all the events?<\/p>\n
