Is it just me or is Paso Robles becoming the foodie travel destination of the world?<\/span><\/p>\n

Okay, maybe not the world but we have a brand new restaurant in Paso Robles and we went to the soft opening last night (Tuesday July 2, 2013). La Cosecha Bar & Restaurant<\/a> is located in the building that used to house Vinoteca Wine Bar and most recently, Fenomenal.<\/span><\/p>\n

My first reaction is, I hope this one sticks for two reasons\u20261) the revolving door of businesses in some of the downtown locations isn\u2019t good and 2) the owners of La Cosecha are the owners of Il Cortile Ristorante<\/a> about a block and a half away and they are very cool people.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, they made many changes to the inside of the building but most importantly they followed the trend of adding an outdoor seating area which looks directly into the Paso Robles Downtown Park\u2026it\u2019s beautiful! I love the new bar as well as the new furtniture, which, if I\u2019m not mistaken is reclaimed wood from a barn at a local farm. The new light fixtures are really cool too; I especially liked the new sconces. <\/span><\/p>\n

The food we tried last night was really good but it was a \u201cpassed tapas\u201d affair so we didn\u2019t really get to taste a bunch of what will be happening, that being said, if you know Chef Santos you know damn well the food will be amazing. You can see some pics in the slideshow below and possibly make out the menu that I took photos of. It looks great.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bar area looks awesome, really inviting and, well, to be honest (as you know) I love bars so you can\u2019t really go wrong. They were serving Cava and Sangria last night\u2026we went with the Cava.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over all, I say GO and check it out. They officially open for dinner this Friday and start serving lunch this coming Monday. These are really great people and as I always say\u2026we need to get the hell out there and support these local restaurants. I know to some folks it seems like we have too many restaurants in downtown, although I disagree, but with the huge tourism aspect of our town I think it\u2019s great to have the diversity. So go support your favorites and be sure to check out La Cosecha<\/a> and let me know what you think.<\/span><\/p>\n
