It\u2019s been an interesting time to see the evolution of wine events here in Paso Robles<\/a>. There has been a lot of growth to the point where it seems like many of the events are really trying to up the game over the previous one. My opinion\u2026I think it\u2019s great to see more creativity going in to these things and more importantly, I\u2019m really stoked to see many of the events recently happening in the name of charity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paso Robles Fork and Corks Was A Success!<\/h3>\n

Another one to add to that list now is the first Paso Fork & Corks Festival<\/a> which was held out at the picturesque Halter Ranch<\/a> property. I\u2019ve written about Halter Ranch before<\/a> and if you have not had a chance to personally see the property, it\u2019s a must see. The event was held out in the \u201cmain area\u201d (not sure what else to call it) which is surrounded by old bars, a covered bridge, and the old grain silo (I believe that\u2019s what it was)\u2026not to mention the vineyards and oak trees that Paso is known for and named after.<\/span><\/p>\n

This event was put on by American General Media<\/a> (local radio folks, in my mind most notably The Cork Dorks<\/a>) along with all the sponsors and volunteers to benefit must! charities. You\u2019ve heard me mention must! charities<\/a> before and I will say it again, it\u2019s an absolutely amazing group of people and partners that are attempting to do all they can to make our little paradise better and stronger. The list of wineries and winemakers on the must! partner list<\/a> is amazing and that list continues to grow!!<\/span><\/p>\n

The restaurants and caterers, the wineries and spirits, along with the list of artisan goods was stellar. Most of the participants we were familiar with so I don\u2019t need to go into a lot of detail, if you\u2019re interested in seeing that list you can see it here<\/a><\/span>. It was great to see the community coming together yet again, in the name of giving back.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think it\u2019s too easy to say \u201cit\u2019s not our problem\u201d or \u201cI don\u2019t have the money or time\u201d, trust me, I say it too\u2026but there comes a time when you\/ we need to stand up and help our community. That\u2019s why I am so appreciative of this organization and all those that are coming together locally to do something. Annie and I had a great time out at Halter Ranch and as usual it was great seeing so many familiar faces. <\/span><\/p>\n
