We live in little, tiny, quaint Paso Robles\u2026who knew there would be so much sh!t going on for us?<\/p>\n

In fact, there is so much going on that we\u2019ve recently had to start turning down some invites and I blame little Sammy for this. If only he could take care of himself at almost 10 months old, then we could party like we used to.<\/p>\n

All that being said, here\u2019s what I\u2019m talking about in Paso Robles…<\/h3>\n

Tomorrow (Saturday August 10) is a Winemaker Dinner at Villa San Juliette Winery<\/a><\/p>\n

Tomorrow is also the Winemaker’s Cookoff <\/a>put on by the Paso Robles Rotary<\/p>\n

August 13 \u2013 Industry Night in downtown Paso Robles<\/p>\n

August 16 \u2013 A Friday night mixer for the Olive Festival<\/a> happening the next day<\/p>\n

August 17 \u2013 The Paso Robles Olive Festival <\/a><\/p>\n

August 17-18 Backstage Barrel Weekend<\/a> with the 46 West Wineries<\/p>\n

August 24 \u2013 Paso Mac & Cheese Festival <\/a><\/p>\n

September 6 & 7 \u2013 Crush & Roll West<\/a> (A cigar, wine, and beer event)<\/p>\n

September 14 \u2013 Boys & Girls Club Winemakers\u2019 Dinner <\/a><\/p>\n

October 8 \u2013 Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell<\/a> at the Vina Robles Amphitheater<\/p>\n

October ??? \u2013 Planning a 5 day trip before or after Sammy\u2019s birthday, still unsure<\/p>\n

October 10 \u2013 14 \u2013 Matt\u2019s sister in town visiting<\/p>\n

October 12 \u2013 Sammy\u2019s 1st<\/sup> birthday<\/p>\n

October 29 \u2013 An Evening With The Moody Blues<\/a> at the Vina Robles Amphitheater<\/p>\n

November 7 \u2013 10 \u2013 Paso Robles Garagiste Festival <\/a><\/p>\n

November 9 \u2013 Matt\u2019s birthday<\/p>\n

December 29 \u2013 Annie\u2019s birthday<\/p>\n

Obviously I didn\u2019t include everything. There are wine tasting invites, Holidays I left off the list, our normal date night each week, and other odds and ends of stuff. Paso Robles is a happening spot to be, that\u2019s for sure. Since Sammy was born I\u2019m used to being asleep by 10 pm and I\u2019m up any time between 4 and 5 am, unless I have a hangover.<\/p>\n

I have two points I suppose:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Paso really is a great place and I\u2019m super stoked to be able to live here. There is always something going on like the aforementioned stuff, Concerts in the Park through summer, Holiday events downtown, wine events, and so on. We love that.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Life can get busy really fast. It can be overwhelming. It\u2019s really important to focus in and maintain good physical mental health. I\u2019m learning that saying yes to everything (regarding invites, events, or even work) is a real stress for me, which in turn affects other areas of my life. So if I turn you down for some reason or another, it\u2019s not out of disliking you or not wanting to hang out or attend your event\u2026it\u2019s because I only have two hands, so many hours in a day, and so many days left on this planet\u2026I need to stay sane (which is why we go through so much wine too).<\/p>\n

I will end with two questions:<\/p>\n
