Asuncion Ridge<\/a> Tasting Room is located in downtown Paso Robles at 725 12th<\/sup> Street across from the park. We\u2019ve been in there numerous times and have a friend that works there, Teresa. The first thing I will say is that you won\u2019t meet anyone kinder and easier to chat with than Teresa. We\u2019ve known her for some time and always enjoy spending time with her.<\/p>\n

The tasting room is fantastic for several reasons but the two best reasons are that it\u2019s a large tasting room so it\u2019s hard to feel claustrophobic in there and the other reason is that it\u2019s directly across from the park. One of my favorite things about Paso, as I have mentioned on here before, is that I love our downtown square. The more time I get downtown, the better!<\/p>\n

They have a great wine list but on this occasion we did not taste through everything. We had Sammy with us and herding him around from destroying a tasting room is mission number one. Just for your information, they do serve by the glass as well as flights; just check the tasting menu for current flights available. Here is the complete list and then I will mention what we tasted.<\/p>\n

Asuncion Ridge Lineup<\/h4>\n

2012 Sauvignon Blanc $25 (tasted)<\/p>\n

2010 Estate Pinot Noir $38 (tasted)<\/p>\n

2009 Salacious (50% Grenache 25% Syrah 25% Mourvedre) $36 (tasted)<\/p>\n

2009 3 Sum (57% Cabernet Sauvignon 29% Syrah 14% Zinfandel) $36 (tasted)<\/p>\n

2010 Nefarious (90% Syrah 10% Grenache) $36 (did not try)<\/p>\n

2009 Lascivious (49% Mourvedre 28% Syrah 23% Cabernet Sauvignon) $36 (did not try)<\/p>\n

Next to each wine I mentioned whether I tasted it or not. I\u2019ve been a fan of their wines for a while now. I love that they have a few Pinot Noir\u2019s, as that\u2019s my favorite red wine, and I like their Sauv Blanc quite a bit. The blends are interesting, love the Cab based 3 Sum\u2026heck, they\u2019re all nice for different reasons and depending on the meal you\u2019re having or the mood in you\u2019re in.<\/p>\n

Asuncion Ridge also has an Inn<\/a> at a separate property location, not at the downtown tasting room, so check that out if you are even in need of accommodations while in paradise\u2026I mean Paso Robles\u2026I\u2019m always screwing up and calling it paradise. Anyways, that\u2019s about all I got for this one, be sure to check out and if you see Teresa in the tasting room be sure to say hi.<\/p>\n

One last note (having nothing to do with wine or Paso Robles): Take a deep breath. Find some solitude and silence. Then take a look around you (physically and in your mind) and realize just how fortunate you are. I saw this sign online this morning that says, \u201cHave faith in thyself, for thou art a bad-ass motherfucker\u201d, I think that\u2019s a really good note to wake up to every morning.
