The latest device given to me via the Verizon (#VZWBuzz) brand ambassador program I am part of is the Droid Maxx<\/a>. The first thing I noticed when starting to check it out is the really cool Kevlar shell\u2026feels different than any other phone I\u2019ve had. It\u2019s solid and just feels damn durable.<\/p>\n

The second thing I noticed right away was the charger. Yes\u2026the charger. It\u2019s got room for TWO usb plug-ins meaning that you could recharge two devices with one plug-in. It\u2019s the simple things in life that get me excited, this is an example. I have multiple devices so it\u2019s a feature I like quite a bit.<\/p>\n

With a screen size of five inches and an HD 720p display this thing is big and super sharp. The 10 mega pixel camera is bad ass. As someone that is documenting my son\u2019s life along with my adventures with wine, beer, and food it means I\u2019m capturing high quality photos and video from a super computer that I can store in my pocket.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a feature that you can turn on when you\u2019re in the camera mode that allows you to simply shake your phone when it\u2019s asleep and it will go directly to camera. It\u2019s kind of a \u201cquick draw\u201d setting so you\u2019re less likely to miss those once in a lifetime moments of hilarity.<\/p>\n

Sharing photos or video has become even easier with Droid Zap. By placing two fingers on the screen and swiping up you can send a photo or video to people right around you. Similar to the Bump app I suppose, minus the bumping! I haven\u2019t used this feature yet but it sounds awesome. Beats having to email a photo or video and it\u2019s way cooler.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it for now. As I explore more on this device I will share additional thoughts. This one and the LG G2 that I talked about in a previous post are really solid smartphone choices. They\u2019re actually two of the best tech devices I\u2019ve ever used. The more we rely on these devices it really is important to know what we\u2019re using and the capabilities they have. It\u2019s nice to be able to compare and find the right one for you and your specific needs.<\/p>\n
