One was to visit my dad and step-mom and the second was to really start pushing ourselves to travel with Sammy. It took us about 4.5 hours to get there and about 4 hours to get back and Sammy did great.<!--more-->So, why am I writing about a brewery in Lincoln?<\/p>\n<p>Good question. Anytime we visit my dad and step-mom we always do fun shit. We\u2019ve gone to Grass Valley with them, hung out in Old Town Sac, found interesting restaurants, unique wine spots, and even just chilled around their pool contemplating with amazing meal we\u2019d have that night.<\/p>\n<p>This time we specifically looked for breweries nearby and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goathousebrewing.com\/GoatHouse_Brewing_Co\/Home.html\" target=\"_blank\">GoatHouse<\/a> was one of them. You have to make an appointment because they\u2019ve had some parking issues\u2026as in too many cars there but other than that\u2026awesome spot.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a super casual atmosphere out in the country. They turned their old barn into the brewery and tasting room. I was really impressed with the brewer and the folks in there working. Great customer service and the beers were really good. They had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goathousebrewing.com\/GoatHouse_Brewing_Co\/Whats_on_tap.html\" target=\"_blank\">seven beers on tap<\/a> so I did a sampler of all seven.<\/p>\n<p>When we left I talked to the brewer for a minute and told him we live in Paso Robles where we have spots like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firestonebeer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Firestone Brewing<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barrelhousebrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">BarrelHouse<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.figmtnbrew.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Figueroa Mountain Brewing<\/a>. In a very genuine way he asked if I liked anything on the list. He wasn\u2019t boisterous or cocky\u2026he was just interested. I told him all the beers were quite good and which ones were my favorite as far as styles go.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked me, I thanked him\u2026we left.<\/p>\n<p>Why do I say all this? I say it because it\u2019s the first time in a while that I went to a place that I\u2019ve never been before and was really happy, impressed, and digging the whole scene. This guy, and his family, were just down to earth people doing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goathousebrewing.com\/GoatHouse_Brewing_Co\/Our_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">their thing<\/a>. They have not been open long but I really hope they succeed. They\u2019ve got great beer and I just felt a really great vibe there.
