New to Paso Robles is wine bar, Taste in the Alley<\/a>. The name is an interesting play on words. The owners originally owned a wine shop in Solvang called Tastes of the Valley and from there opened a Tastes of the Valley<\/a> in Pismo Beach (they no longer have the one in Solvang).<\/p>\n

The reason they altered the name slightly for the Paso Robles location is that, well, the main entrance is in an alley. The alley is called Norma\u2019s Way and it is between the Artisan restaurant building and Jackie\u2019s Korean Fusion Restaurant on Pine Street.<\/p>\n

Owners, Ash Mehta and Lissa Hallberg, are great people. We originally met them in their Solvang location 7-ish years back and have since been in their Pismo location many times. They are, in my opinion, another example of terrific local people with tremendous wine knowledge.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve now been in the Paso location twice and I actually enjoy the vibe. It\u2019s intimate, relatively small, decorated well, and actually feels a bit like you\u2019re underground or in a wine cellar\u2026which I guess you kind of are.<\/p>\n

They are still in the process of fine tuning the decorating and getting the wine preservation machine in there but they are open for business and more than eager to pour you a glass of wine. Get in there, check them out, and let me know what you think.<\/p>\n\n\n
