As some of you know it was recently our (Annie and my) 7th<\/sup> wedding anniversary\u2026August 1st<\/sup> to be exact. It fell on a Saturday<\/span> and typically we plan a night away. This night away has often been at the SeaVenture Resort in Pismo Beach where we first met face to face, where we got engaged, and where we got married.<\/p>\n

This year, however, we somehow did not plan a mini getaway. Instead we decided to throw a little party (not an anniversary party) at our house with friends and the theme was\u2026wait for it\u2026bring a Ros\u00e9. All I really know is that the next morning there were 13 empty wine bottles and I couldn\u2019t count how many empty beer bottles because they were in a few different trash cans.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not a good party unless you can take AT LEAST one case box of empties to the recycling container. Oh to hear the glass against glass when the trash truck picks up our recycling can on Thursday<\/span> afternoon. It\u2019s kind of loud but it\u2019s music to the wine industry\u2019s ears.<\/p>\n

The party was great. We tried to keep it relatively small due to Sammy and not wanting to overwhelm him. Or maybe it\u2019s that I don\u2019t want to overwhelm myself but I blame him. Who knows? There were some great wines as you will see in the slideshow below. I can\u2019t really say I had a favorite. I wasn\u2019t in that kind of mood. It was more a \u201ctasting\u201d kind of day which turned into a \u201cdrinking\u201d kind of day.<\/p>\n

Annie and I have always enjoyed doing themed parties. We\u2019ve done a reggae party (in honor of our friends Jeanette and Tracy), the Halloween wig party (several years of this, no costumes just wigs), wine themed parties, Sammy\u2019s birthday party theme was Fedoras, and some others. Our attitude is, if you\u2019re going to have a party you might as well give it a badass theme.<\/p>\n

Thanks to those that attended, it was great seeing each of you. And if all goes well we will see you again because this party reinvigorated our interest in doing these casual, fun, little get-togethers.<\/p>\n
