I recently wrote about Kitchenette<\/a>, a new breakfast and lunch spot brought to you by the brothers that gave us Artisan Restaurant in downtown Paso Robles. In that post<\/a> I included a short Q&A with Mike, one of the brothers, but we had not managed to get in and eat\u2026until now!<\/p>\n

We went in this morning after dropping our son of at his very first day of preschool. We thought it was rather momentous and felt we deserved breakfast. It\u2019s a really cool, casual, quaint little spot at the north end of Main Street in Templeton. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the d\u00e9cor is something along the lines of rustic elegance but very casual and comfortable. Almost like being in the chef\u2019s kitchen.<\/p>\n

Annie ordered the Beer Braised Corned Beef Hash (sour cream, whole grain mustard, cabbage, fried egg $12.00) and I had the Chilaquiles (housemade soy chorizo, feta, black beans, avocado, fried egg $9.00). Annie\u2019s dish looked amazing and she confirmed. The Chilaquiles was amazing\u2026Annie agreed. The soy chorizo added a whole different component to the dish than I am used to. Fantastic!<\/p>\n

Mike sat with us for a bit and based on that conversation I feel it\u2019s their goal is to produce high quality food using great local ingredients but keep prices reasonable ($9 and $12 isn\u2019t bad at all). They want people to be able to come in and get a great meal quickly and even promote carry out.<\/p>\n

The wide open kitchen adds some excitement to the experience. Again, it feels like you\u2019re at a friend\u2019s house hanging out in the kitchen. This was our first trip in but there isn\u2019t a thing I would change right now. The service, food, and ambiance were terrific. They do serve beer and wine as well\u2026for the lushes out there.<\/p>\n
