What\u2019s new? She\u2019s always deciding everything. Haha\u2026just kidding. It\u2019s kind of a birthday thing we do, let that person pick what they want to do. Annie\u2019s first stop was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pasounderground.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paso Underground<\/a> which is a small co-op in downtown Paso Robles with four wineries in it.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Underground has been around for at least a couple of years at this point, if not longer, but it has been quite some time since we were last there. By the time we arrived there were only two of the four wineries pouring so\u2026we dove right in. The first one was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.copiavineyards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Copia<\/a>, which we had never heard of before. There we tasted:<\/p>\n<p>2014 \u201cThe Reason\u201d (100% Viognier from Hoyt Family Vineyards) $32.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 \u201cThe Answer\u201d (75% Syrah, 25% Grenache from Hoyt Family Vineyards) $40.00<\/p>\n<p>2013 \u201cThe Blend (40% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre from L\u2019Aventure) $65.00<\/p>\n<p>Each of these wines was from the Willow Creek Appellation and I enjoyed each one quite a bit. Annie grabbed a bottle of the Viognier. I should note that she didn\u2019t just grab it, she paid for it too.<\/p>\n<p>Next we tasted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edmondaugust.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Edmond August Wines<\/a>. There we tasted:<\/p>\n<p>2012 Inference (76% Roussanne, 24% Viognier from Caliza Vineyard) $30.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 Inquiry Rose (Sagnee of Grenache and Mourvedre westside Paso sources) $20.00<\/p>\n<p>2011 Anthology (69% Grenache, 16% Syrah, 8% Tannat, 7% Cinsault from Cocavin &amp; Hearthstone Vineyards) $48.00<\/p>\n<p>2010 Soft Letters (55% Mourvedre, 45% Grenache from Caliza Vineyard) $48.00<\/p>\n<p>2010 Indelible (84% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 4% Viognier from Caliza Vineyard) $48.00<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a while since we tasted his wines. This was a nice lineup. Annie got a bottle of the Rose here. I enjoyed the white blend, Inference, as well as the Anthology and Soft Letters.<\/p>\n<p>Overall great experience. Ariel that poured for Copia and Ed at Edmond August were both easy to chat with and informative. A nice mix when in a tasting room. The other two wineries that are in there but not pouring while we were there are Dilecta and Turtle Rock. I\u2019ve had a couple wines from Dilecta before and they were very nice\u2026lots of good buzz about this one. We\u2019ve tasted Turtle Rock in there before and were impressed.
