She wanted to show us the food and wine pairings that she\u2019s planning for Valentine\u2019s Day weekend. They partnered up with <a href=\"http:\/\/fromageriesophie.com\" target=\"_blank\">Fromagerie Sophie <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allepiasalumi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alle-pia Salumi<\/a> to create some incredible combinations.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here are the pairings and then some notes following below that:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2014 Summer Satine (Viognier) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Honey Comb<\/p>\n<p>Fromager D\u2019affinois<\/p>\n<p><strong>2015 Heart Note (Rose from Sangiovese)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Langres (cheese)<\/p>\n<p>Barnier Black Provencal Olives<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013 Reserve Sangiovese<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fougerus Cheese<\/p>\n<p>Uni Pasta<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pork &amp; Pistachio Pate<\/p>\n<p>Finocchiona Salami<\/p>\n<p><strong>2013 Lover\u2019s Spell (56% Syrah 44% Cabernet Sauvignon)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Smokey Blue Cheese<\/p>\n<p>Bone Marrow with Anchovy<\/p>\n<p>Pan Forte<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts on the pairings:<\/p>\n<p>Annie and I both were in agreement that the pairings were amazing. You start off gradually with the Viognier and Rose pairings, super tasty but not over the top. Then you move into the Sangiovese and it kicks up a notch. That cheese pairing was delicious but the Uni Pasta really delivered. From there we get into that Reserve Cabernet with the Pate and Salami\u2026left us wanting more. To close out with the Syrah\/ Cabernet blend, the Smokey Blue Cheese was some of the best cheese I\u2019ve had and it paired very nicely. The Bone Marrow was really the kicker. I\u2019ve never had it before but not only was it outstanding, the pairing with this wine took both to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>A superb showing of why wine and food go hand in hand. They enhance one another, they do not dominate one another. Below are the days and times they are doing these pairings. <span data-term=\"goog_2048293748\">Friday<\/span> night is a bit different than the rest of the weekend so maybe go to both!<\/p>\n<p>So here\u2019s the scoop:<\/p>\n<p><span data-term=\"goog_2048293749\">Friday<\/span> at LXV: Cheese painrings with Fromagerie Sophie $25 per person $18 for industry\/ wine club<\/p>\n<p><span data-term=\"goog_2048293750\">Saturday<\/span> through <span data-term=\"goog_2048293751\">Monday<\/span> (<span data-term=\"goog_2048293752\">1pm \u2013 7pm<\/span>) at LXV: Aphrodisiac pairings $45 per person $35 for industry\/ wine club<\/p>\n<p>The menu may change slightly based on their ability to get what they need from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allepiasalumi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alle-Pia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another big thank you to Neeta for inviting us in to do a pre-Valentine\u2019s Day weekend taste test.
