It\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve tasted his wines but on a recent visit to Tin City we ran into him and decided to check his wines out. He is currently tasting out of the barrel room at <a href=\"http:\/\/brianbensoncellars.com\" target=\"_blank\">Brian Benson Cellars<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He had two wines going right now and here is what they were:<\/p>\n<p>2013 Syrah \u2013 100% &#8211; Walla Walla \u2013 Les Collines Vineyard \u2013 14.2% alc \u2013 100 cases &#8211; $36.00<\/p>\n<p>2013 Syrah \u2013 100% &#8211; Paso Robles \u2013 15.1% alc \u2013 250 cases &#8211; $32.00<\/p>\n<p>It was pretty interesting to taste two Syrah\u2019s from the same vintage but from completely different areas. Well worth the trip to Tin City to taste these two. I enjoyed them both but seeing as how I drink so much Paso wine it was cool tasting the Walla Walla Syrah. I\u2019d go at it with or without food. Great nose and not overpowering on the palate. I\u2019ve had lamb on the brain lately so maybe we\u2019ll have to make some when we open that bottle.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler has another label that will be coming out soon called, Cordant. Under that label he will have the following wines:<\/p>\n<p>A Central Coast Pinot Noir<\/p>\n<p>Wills Hills Grenache<\/p>\n<p>Presqu\u2019ile Syrah<\/p>\n<p>And a Rhone blend<\/p>\n<p>We originally became aware of Tyler when he was working at Zenaida Cellars but prior to that had also worked at Dover Canyon Winery and Justin Vineyard &amp; Winery. As I said in the intro, truly one of the good guys in the industry.
