Lone Madrone<\/a> is another one of those wineries that we had not been to in quite some time. In fact, the last time was when they were at their old location on HWY 46 West across from Niner Wine Estates. They are now (and have been for a while) located out a bit on Adelaida Road. Part of the reason we chose to go out there was due to their well-known \u201cBurger Sundays<\/span>\u201d. I will get to the rest of that shortly.<\/p>\n

I really like their new spot. The tasting room is awesome and the grounds are beautiful. It\u2019s another of those fun, relaxing Paso wineries that was made for hanging out and enjoying the day. You\u2019ll see some shots in the slideshow below to get an idea. Now let\u2019s get down to business.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what we tasted:<\/p>\n

2014 La Mezcla (71% Grenache Blanc 29% Albarino) $25.00<\/p>\n

2014 Oveja (54% Picpoul Blanc 46% Grenache Blanc) $35.00<\/p>\n

2013 La Mezcla Roja (64% Counoise 35% Cinsault) $30.00<\/p>\n

2011 Points West Red (33% Mourvedre 30% Grenache 16% Syrah 15% Cinsault 6% Counoise) $35.00<\/p>\n

2011 Von Dog (55% Tannat 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Syrah) $60.00<\/p>\n

The wines were really nice but if I had to call out a couple of favorites I\u2019d go with the two whites, La Mezcla and Oveja, along with the Points Red West. As I was saying, the tasting room is super cool. They have two tasting bars that you can access from inside as well as outside on either patio. Really cool set up.<\/p>\n

Now to the burgers. They were offering a regular beef burger, a lamb burger, and a portobello mushroom burger. We grabbed a beef and lamb burger and cut them both in half to share. Both were really good BUT that lamb burger was out of this world. Come to think of it, I should have ordered a couple more of them to take home. If you haven\u2019t tried it\u2026figure out the next Sunday they are doing burgers and go!<\/p>\n

All in all, great experience. From customer service to wine to the grounds to the burgers, a perfect afternoon. Cheers!<\/p>\n\n\n
