On a recent weekend we decided to get out of our \u201carea\u201d (Paso Robles) and try something new as a family.We headed down to San Luis Obispo to try hiking Madonna Mountain and then go grab lunch. The only \u201chikes\u201d we\u2019ve done with Sammy at this point are Harmony Headlands directly south of Cambria.<\/p>\n
Harmony Headlands is a much easier trek than Madonna Mountain, especially for a 3 \u00bd year old. We did make it a good distance, though and it really is a beautiful hike. As you ascend you have views of rolling hills, downtown San Luis Obispo, and of course\u2026nature. I want to go do this one again without Sammy because I\u2019d like to get to the top.<\/p>\n
Once we decided it was time to come down and go find some place to grab a snack, most things were not yet open so we took Sammy to the mission in downtown SLO. We took him down to the creek and bubblegum alley as well. You\u2019ll see some photos of that in the slideshow below.<\/p>\n
After the \u201cSammy in SLO\u201d tour we head over to Blast 825 Taproom<\/a> to grab a cider for me and a mimosa for Annie. Really cool vibe and as with many places in SLO, I loved the sitting at the open windows right at the sidewalk. Downtown SLO is absolutely beautiful. I want to get back over to this joint and try their pizzas. Apparently they do pizzas the same way Subway does sandwiches\u2026minus the Jared (too soon?).<\/p>\n
