Crafted by House Mixologist Andrew Burne, the award-winning cocktail is a delicious mix of rye whiskey, house-infused lemongrass Campari, topped with a lavender and rosemary smoke pillow.<\/em><\/p>\n

August 10, 2016 (Paso Robles, CA) \u2014 The first and only luxury resort in Paso Robles Wine Country, the Allegretto Vineyard Resort<\/strong>, AllegrettoResort.com,<\/em><\/a> is pleased to announce that Andrew Burne\u2019s complex and delicious cocktail Heard it Through the Grapevine<\/em>, placed second at this inaugural \u201cUltimate Mix-Off\u201d mixology contest at this year\u2019s California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles.<\/p>\n

The competition pitted ten of the area\u2019s best mixologists against one another to create a signature cocktail using a spirit from a local distiller. Burne\u2019s cocktail was paired with Highspire\u2019s Rye Whiskey. Burne then mixed it with house-infused lemongrass Campari, sweet Vermouth, fresh flowers plucked from the Allegretto gardens, coffee beans and finished over a lavender and rosemary smoke pillow with a lemongrass straw.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to create a complex cocktail that engages the senses by employing what\u2019s in season in Allegretto gardens, like lemongrass, lavender and rosemary,\u201d says Burne. I was honored it was received so well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
