There\u2019s just something adventurous and cozy about it. We recently went out to <a href=\"http:\/\/vinovargas.com\/\">Vino Vargas<\/a> in San Miguel on a cloudy, drizzly day with our friend Lisa.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It was a bit of a drive from our home in Paso Robles but sometimes in life, good things come to those who wait. Vargas is located at 950 Indian Dune Road on the west side of San Miguel. If you\u2019re heading north on Hwy 101, take the 10<sup>th<\/sup> Street exit and head west. That said, don\u2019t just head out there\u2026call and make an appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Pedro Vargas, owner and winemaker, greeted us to pour us through his lineup. Here\u2019s what we tasted:<\/p>\n<p>2015 Aha! Albari\u00f1o (100%) Paso Robles $24.00<\/p>\n<p>2015 \u00a1Ole! Chardonnay (100%) Central Coast $24.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 Del Sol Roussanne (100%) Central Coast $24.00<\/p>\n<p>2015 Costa Rosa Ros\u00e9 (50% Grenache 25% Syrah 25% Mourvedre) Paso Robles $27.00<\/p>\n<p>2012 Rio Ruso Reserva (100% Pinot Noir) Russian River $35.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 Tr\u00e9s Bien GSM (50% Grenache 25% Syrah 25% Mourvedre) Paso Robles $29.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 Toro Tinto (100% Tempranillo) Clement Hills $29.00<\/p>\n<p>2014 El Taxi (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) Paso Robles $24.00<\/p>\n<p>2015 100% Grenache $29.00 (Not on the tasting menu)<\/p>\n<p>Overall I was impressed with the wines. Most notably we enjoyed the Roussanne, Rose, Pinot Noir, and that 2015 100% Grenache that was not on the list. Pedro struck me as an incredibly nice guy and clearly passionate about his wines and wine in general.
