{"id":668,"date":"2011-02-16T05:54:56","date_gmt":"2011-02-16T13:54:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/WegotsomeNewZealandSauvignonBlanctocelebratethegreatnessthatisDungenessCrabSeason!\u00a0CanyoureallyimagineanythingbetterthanalittletastytreatofcrabpairedupwithsomerefreshinganddelightfulSauvignonBlanc?\u00a0Yeah,useither!"},"modified":"2011-02-16T05:54:56","modified_gmt":"2011-02-16T13:54:56","slug":"nobilo-sauvignon-blanc-fresh-crab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/hootnannie\/2011\/02\/16\/nobilo-sauvignon-blanc-fresh-crab\/","title":{"rendered":"Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc and Fresh Crab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We got some New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to celebrate the greatness  that is Dungeness Crab Season!\u00a0 Can you really imagine anything better  than a little tasty treat of crab paired up with some refreshing and  delightful Sauvignon Blanc?\u00a0 Yeah, us either!\u00a0 We took our Sauvignon  Blanc down the road a bit to the fresh fish market and restaurant, <a href=\"http:\/\/pier46seafood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pier 46 Seafood <\/a>in Templeton, CA.<\/p>\n<p>The SB was a 2009 <a href=\"http:\/\/nobilo.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nobilo<\/a>,  from the Marlborough region of New Zealand.\u00a0 We tasted the wine, and  noted that it was light, with lots of citrus and tang, pretty standard  for a SB, nothing too earth shattering.\u00a0 Then, the magical Joanne of  Pier 46 Seafood whipped us up one of their famous crab cakes and brought  it out&#8230;wooohooo!\u00a0 The wine changed, it became smooth and creamy and  worked really well with that crab!\u00a0 Those traditional Sauvignon Blanc  traits were still there, but everything seemed to come together and  meld.\u00a0 It was a very cool wine and food experience!<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a whole other side to wine, and that is food!\u00a0 Wine is meant  to go with food, so get out there and try some different pairings.\u00a0  Sure, you have your traditional combos like white wine with seafood, red  wine with steaks, and dessert wines with, well, with dessert.
