{"id":705,"date":"2011-02-28T05:17:36","date_gmt":"2011-02-28T13:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/hootnannie\/2011\/02\/28\/drinking-wine-cave-vina-castellano\/"},"modified":"2011-02-28T05:17:36","modified_gmt":"2011-02-28T13:17:36","slug":"drinking-wine-cave-vina-castellano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.threeadventure.com\/hootnannie\/2011\/02\/28\/drinking-wine-cave-vina-castellano\/","title":{"rendered":"Drinking Wine in a Cave at Vina Castellano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Story<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve never drank wine in a cave, then you need to get on out to <a href=\"http:\/\/vinacastellano.ewinerysolutions.com\/\/index.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">Vina Castellano<\/a>!\u00a0 Their tasting room is situated inside a large cave, and it&#8217;s pretty neat.\u00a0 It&#8217;s got an awesome vibe, with lights strung around, heaters to make it cozy, and lots of tables to sit at and enjoy a glass of wine.\u00a0 They&#8217;ve got a cool family winemaking story that&#8217;s pretty well regarded in the Auburn Wine Trail region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Wines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We tasted some interesting wines, starting with a Sauvignon Blanc, then moving through a Rose, and a nice blend of Cabernet Franc, Grenache, and Syrah that they call their Abuelita, made in honor of the winemaker&#8217;s grandmother.\u00a0 We tasted 3 different vintages of their Tempranillo, each a little different from the other.\u00a0 They&#8217;re known for their Tempranillos, and you can definitely see why!\u00a0 Then on to 2 different Cabernet Francs, one unfiltered that was incredible, then through 2 vintages of Syrah.\u00a0 It was very cool to be able to taste all the different vintages of the same variety so that you could compare the different years and note their nuances.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Videos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We did 2 videos here, one inside the cave so you could check it out, and one as we drove out the driveway since it was so beautiful!<\/p>\n<p>[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GXxTSiuk4ro[\/youtube]<\/p>\n<p>[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GRpwZjxK7NQ[\/youtube]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"zemanta-related-title\" style=\"font-size: 1em\">Related articles<\/h6>\n<ul class=\"zemanta-article-ul\">\n<li class=\"zemanta-article-ul-li\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hootnannieblog.com\/2011\/02\/exploring-territory-mt-vernon-winery\/\">Exploring New Territory at Mt.
