(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) – Thirty years after founding their family winery in
\nPaso Robles, Doug and Nancy Beckett continue to build a reputation for the
\ngrape that started it all, California Zinfandel.  In addition, their two
\nsons, Josh and Jake, went on to build their successful brand in Paso Robles,
\nChronic Cellars.
\nAt 72, Beckett credits Zinfandel with his success, but says the biggest
\nreward for all the years of hard work is that his family is still together:
\n“there aren’t very many family Zinfandel producers left in California, and
\nfamily is the most important thing to us.”<\/p>\n

Peachy Canyon produces more than just California Zinfandel, but it’s the
\nwinery’s single vineyard Zins from their estate property that really stand
\nout.<\/p>\n

To celebrate 30 years in business the family recently released a
\nlimited-edition, estate bottled California Zinfandel.  The 30th Anniversary
\nRed is a blend of 80% Zinfandel, 15% Grenache and 5% Syrah.  All of the
\nfruit came from dry farmed, head-trained vines on the family’s Mustang
\nSprings ranch in Paso Robles’ Adelaide Hills district.  Peachy Canyon made
\nonly around 100 cases of the wine and it sells for $95.00 per bottle.<\/p>\n

“Small family wineries face incredible pressure in this competitive wine
\nworld,” opines Beckett.  “Our family has weathered major illness,
\nrestructuring our business and regular family challenges.things that made
\nsome of our early competitors take the easy way out and sell to bigger
\ncorporate companies.  Ultimately, I’m happy that our family is still working
\ntogether making great wine from Paso Robles.  That’s what makes us
\nsuccessful” <\/p>\n

If the quality of Peachy Canyon’s current 2016 releases is any indication,
\nthe Beckett family is well-positioned to continue the family legacy far into
\nthe future.<\/p>\n
